The Studio for Interrelated Media (SIM) is the earliest interdisciplinary department of MassArt and one of the most innovative areas of study at the college, where student and faculty experiment with mixing different media and genres. Founded in 1970 by Professor Harris Barron, SIM has a tradition of educating students in cutting-edge performance, installation, sound art, and increasingly, in explorations of emerging technologies and mixed media.
